Biography

My connection with the church has literally been life long. I was born and brought up in the South Wales valley town of Abercarn, just north of Newport. My family were all involved in the the life of Garn Congregational Church and it was there that I was grounded in the Christian faith.

Having represented my home church on many and various committees within the Congregational Church, both local and provincial (synod) wide and, having been a lay preacher for many years, I decided that the "Call" to ordained ministry could be resisted no longer. By this time the Congregational Church in England and Wales had united with the Presbyterian Church of England forming what we now know as The United Reformed Church.

My ministerial training took place at Northern College, Manchester with my final year being spent on Internship at Shrewsbury United Reformed Church, following which I was "Called" to be minister of Banstead United Reformed Church, from there I was "Called" to be minister of Sanderstead United Reformed Church and from there to Weybridge.

As a minister I have always held and believed in the fact that "the Lord has yet more light and truth to break forth from his word" in other words that God is still very much speaking to our modern day situations, the problem is we don't often listen!
